Joseph C. from Ocean Lakes High School in Virginia Beach, VA is a true selfless community volunteer and leader amongst his peers.  Some of Joseph’s 30 hours for the Peter’s Wish Scholarship is spent:
-       serving meals to the homeless at the Judeo Christian Outreach Center

-       performing in concerts for residents of a local nursing home
-       providing music therapy for children with disabilities at St. Mary’s Children’s Home

Joseph’s history of volunteerism and community work is remarkable for a young man his age.  His positions and accolades speak volumes: Knight of Columbus “Young Man of the Year”, Va Beach Mayor recognition for 500 hours of community service, and Vice President for the Mayor’s Youth Leaders in Action.  The list goes on and on….to the benefit of the Virginia Beach community!

Putting aside his service and his impressive academic credentials at the rigorous Math and Science Academy, Joseph has true heart and character.  His school counselor writes, “He meets every challenge head-on, with diligence, determination, and a steady perseverance.”
